In the following video, Picabo Street shares how chiropractic allowed her to commit to and chase after her dreams.
Picabo Street gets back into an atmosphere she knows well as she plays television analyst for men’s and women’s alpine skiing events at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Street is known for her three Winter Olympic wins and more importantly, her determination and success in recovering from several injuries during her skiing career.
After her first injury and 11,000 hours of rehabilitation, Picabo made a fantastic comeback and won gold at the Nagano Winter Olympics. Quickly after her win in Nagano, she suffered an even worse injury during the World Cup downhill race in Switzerland, breaking her femur in five places and tearing the ACL in her right knee. For the next two years, she went through intense rehabilitation therapy and at the end of the two years, earned a spot on the U.S. team for the Salt Lake City Winter Games in 2002.
According to Street, chiropractic care was her life saver. With chiropractic care, Street was able to train without the use of medications and developed the strength that would get her back on the slopes.
